Employer Engagement

Rathmines Colleges offers over 27 courses in Further Education at QQI Level 5 and 6 in Business, Law, Administration, Software Development, Journalism and Media.  The College also offers the Repeat Leaving Certificate as well as Professional Accounting courses in CAT, ACCA and ATI at Certificate and Diploma Level as well as the ATI Apprenticeship.

Linking with Business - Employers Forum

Rathmines College has partnered and developed relationships with employers over a long number of years. These relationship has helped the college to keep abreast of the changing needs of industry when developing and reviewing the range of courses offered.  Employers are invited to attend our end of course Board Meetings to help validate the courses. The benefit to the employers is they are often able to recruit from the talented pool of graduates for their organisations as well as influence the course subjects for the following year.

Skills to Advance

This new Employee Development Skills to Advance Policy launched by the government is very exciting for SME employers. This initiative enables your employees to up skilled or reskill for today’s industry needs.

Rathmines College can support the growing needs of your business by carrying out a skills audit on your company to identify skills needs for a changing industry.  A QQI Level 5 Certificate or Level 6 Advance Certificate can be tailored to your company needs whether it is in the area of Customer Service, Digital Marketing or IT. This skills audit will match innovative learning solutions that suit you, the employer.

For qualifying SMEs there is no financial cost for undertaking a QQI Level 5 course and there is a 70% discount for QQI Level 6 courses.

This programme is designed to encourage long term employees to engage with lifelong learning and to assist employers to future proof their businesses by upskilling their existing workforce.

Accounting Apprenticeship - College Mentor

Rathmines College offers a two year ATI apprenticeship programme. We have a designated team of mentors that supports the apprentices in college and visit the work-place mentor twice a year for feedback on the performance of the apprentice.

Advertise a vacancy

Rathmines College offer employers the opportunity to advertise a vacancy free of charge to current students. To avail of this service please email the Employment Engagement Officer with details of the vacancy.  The vacancy will be displayed on the Employment Board and sent to the Tutor with students likely to be interested in the vacancy.  Employers should include as much information about the vacancy as possible.

Guest Lecture Opportunities

Guest lecturers from organisations are invited to speak to students where the specialist area of their work is relevant to the courses run in Rathmines College.  

Arrange site visits

Tutors organise site visits whereby students gain a practical insight in to the workplace by visiting various companies.

Corporate Bursaries/Social Responsibility

Rathmines College partners with three organisations who support students financially in the college.  Each year Tax Buddy.ie support two accounting students, We are Dublin support two students from the Dublin 1 or 2 locality and The Community Foundation support a wide number of students with course fees and leap cards etc.

There are many ways your company can get involved

  1. Sponsor a student or offer a bursary
  2. Sponsor a Team with jerseys displaying your logo (football, basketball etc) or sponsor the printing of a college magazine
  3. Advertise in the College magazine
  4. Offer a site visit for students to your company
  5. Visit the college and give a lecture relating to your company
  6. Provide a two week work placement which each student undertakes as part of their  QQI Level 5 and 6 programmes in February of each year
  7. Advertise a job with the College
