Rathmines College student support services provide opportunities for academic development, assists students with basic college requirements, and serves to motivate students towards the successful completion of their chosen course.
OUR STRUCTURE
Structure and Blended Learning

Depending on Department of Higher Education and Further Education guidelines, most courses will be remote one day a week and in college for the rest of the week.

However, there are some courses including the Accounting and Administration where you will be in college one day a week and remote for the rest of the course. All course structures are subject to change.

Course

Course Tutors

Course tutors administer and co-ordinate the various courses at Rathmines College. Each tutor is available to students to advise and consult on personal and academic matters.

Laptop Loan Scheme

All students completing courses in the college need access to a computer or laptop that will use the Microsoft suite.
For those that are financially unable to purchase a computer or laptop the college operates a Laptop Loan Scheme,
with a limited number of machines available.

Through this scheme the college will provide students with a laptop for the duration of their course in the college. Apple iOS laptops or tablets may not have the ability to correctly install the necessary software.

Student Council
  • The College supports a representative Student Council which organises social, cultural and sporting events. It works with management and staff to ensure the experience of students at Rathmines College is both positive and rewarding.
  • The Student Council is represented on the College Board of Management.
Available Student Supports

Rathmines College supports students with special education needs. It is Rathmines College policy to provide appropriate support for students in the context of our commitment to equality.

The college requires relevant professional reports to support application to the DES for necessary resources. Students with a serious medical condition should also inform the college authorities as early as possible.

Disclosure of a Disability and/or Specific Learning Difficulty will not adversely affect your application or your legal rights in any way.

Computer Facilities

The college has six fully equipped computer rooms complete with projection equipment and high-speed Internet Access.

In addition to these facilities students have access to PCs at various points throughout the College for project work.

Student access to Office 365 and Adobe programs.

Radio Studio

The college has a state-of-the-art radio studio which is used for media courses and broadcasts live and pre-recorded shows.
