Through to the Semi's with Victory over RCSI

It was the quarter-final stage of the competition, with Rathmines College facing off against the Royal College of Surgeons. The venue for the clash was Whelan’s Park in Kimmage Grove, and the game kicked off at 2 p.m.

During the first twenty minutes, both teams fought hard for the crucial opening goal. After a superb spell of attacking football, Rathmines player Oscar Doyle scored the first goal of the game, putting his side ahead. Rathmines continued their strong performance in the first half, scoring twice more before the break with two excellent goals from Joshua Gleason Halpin and Baboloki Tingwane. This put Rathmines 3–0 up at half-time.

In the second half, the Royal College of Surgeons kept their hopes alive with determined attacking and technical play. They managed to pull one goal back, but it wasn’t enough, as Rathmines held on to their lead until the final whistle.

Rathmines football manager Aidan Roche described his team’s performance as a “much-needed win.”  He added; “We scored crucial goals from the get-go, which put us at an advantage for the game. We must continue this in the remaining matches of the competition.”
Roche said he now looks forward to seeing how his team performs in the semi-final stage.
