The course teaches students the fundamental skills of a journalist in the 21st century. It incorporates both practical methods of working across various media and the theoretical underpinnings of journalism that are as relevant today as they ever were. The course reflects the advancement of digital technology and publication of news on multiple platforms and gives students the tools to report the news and engage the public in a constantly evolving media and news environment.

QQI Level 5 Award holders are eligible to progress onto Rathmines College’s Level 6 Advanced Certificate in News and Media in the Digital Age or apply to a wide variety of courses in Higher Education Univsersities and Institudes of Technology including: TU Dublin (Journalism, Film and Broadcasting), Maynooth  (Arts, Media Studies), and DCU (Arts/Media Studies, Communications, Journalism).
