Rathmines College is hosting its second annual thrift shop event in March 2026, with a strong focus on promoting sustainable fashion and philanthropy.
Running from March 4th to 6th, the Thrift shop stands out through its partnership with Oxfam Ireland, a well-known charity committed to tackling global poverty and injustice. All proceeds of the event will be donated directly to support Oxfam’s impactful initiatives . This collaboration adds a meaningful dimension to the shopping experience, giving attendees the opportunity to support a charitable cause while enjoying the excitement of discovering unique, second hand items.
Beyond sustainability and charitable giving, the event also encourages a strong sense of community within Rathmines College. It brings together both students and staff, creating a lively atmosphere that celebrates individuality while making a collective difference. The work completed by students as part of the event also contributed to their overall grades, highlighting the educational value of the initiative alongside its social impact.
Staff and students are donating their pre-loved clothes, books, vinyls & jewellery and the event took place for one week only, from the 4th to the 6th March 2025.
