Collobarative Marketing Projects
Project Based Assessment
In collaboration with Oxfam Ireland, our 2024 Marketing students ran a college Thrift Shop and it was a huge success. By selling pre-loved items, this initiative not only raised money for a a great cause but helped students learn about the importance of sustainability. All promotional activities were run by our innovative students including social media marketing, personal selling, sales promotion PR and poster design. A branding style guide was created for the shop and it was a real team effort with both staff and students donating stock through our collection stations in the college. This project counted towards students final grade, as part of the continuous assessment for 3 modules.

a Level 8 course, I wanted to find out if marketing was really for me, and the Marketing course at Rathmines College gave me that chance. Unlike the Leaving Cert, the PLC allowed me to focus on areas I was genuinely curious about, like Marketing Practice, Behavioural Studies, and Economics. I wanted to learn about the core principles of business and marketing, and this course delivered exactly that. The tutors were always there to help with any questions you might have on the subject material, which made the learning experience more approachable and enjoyable. One of the highlights was the collaboration with Oxfam for the Thrift Shop module, where we gained exposure to real-world business concepts like pricing, display, and stock sorting, all while supporting a great cause. Thanks to the skills I developed in Rathmines College, I’ll be starting Marketing, Innovation and Technology at DCU this September. I’d absolutely recommend this course to anyone who wants to explore marketing and business before diving into a full degree…”
