Pre-University Arts

Students gain a firm foundation in the standard required to study at university and progress to a wide variety of careers in both the public and private sectors including research, teaching, health and social care. 

Pre-University Arts

This course will prepare learners to study in the field of the Arts and Social Sciences at University level. Students will take modules similar to those offered in Universities in these disciplines as well as modules to improve their general academic and research skills. This course has links to all of the Arts and Social Science courses offered in Irish universities and more. Rathmines College has an excellent track record in progressing students to University from our level 5 courses.

Please note: some courses may involve remote teaching next year depending on Covid and the instruction from the HSE.

Education Progression

QQI Level 5 Award holders are eligible to apply to a wide variety of Higher Education colleges. Many of DCU, UCD and NUI programmes have an entry route for QQI/FE Level 5 applicants. For programmes with a QQI entry route, approximately 10% of places are retained for QQI applicants. Applicants presenting a minimum of five distinctions in a specified QQI Level 5 award, with specified modules if required, may be eligible to compete for a place. Applicants are ranked based on their performance and must apply through the CAO at
